What a lovely story. This is my first book by Lynn Ames. I'm looking forward to which book by her that I'll choose next and really excited that there are several already published that I will get to read. It's tough when you really REALLY enjoy an author but there's only a book or two available. That's how much I enjoyed reading this story.This book was fantastic! It offered everything from a great plot to fully flushed out characters, great secondary characters and it made me laugh out loud it had some sweet sex scenes that were sizzling enough and yet tastefully done. And at times I was angry and felt like crying. In my opinion an author who can make me feel so much with their writing is a winner and keeper ! Do yourself a favor and read this book - you won't be disappointed !!!

This story made me want to smack the main characters for being idiots. Ames tries for a happy ending, but she just misses. It was a sad story and not quite what I expected. If you believe that a good book doesn't always have a happy ending then this book is for you. If you want them to ride off into the sunset together then rather read her other book - All that lies within.
Nicely written though, good use of characters and interesting time to set a story.
What a beautiful and deeply moving story! I'm not sure I can find words to do this review proper justice. I feel flooded and raw with emotion after having finished the last chapter of the book. Following Jessie and Claudia's adventures, their love story, which is exciting, beautiful, and sad, all at once, I experienced every emotion they felt as if it were my own - a sure sign of great writing! I fell in love with Jessie and Claudia, as well as Natalie and Chelsea, and had to remind myself, when my mom called last night while I was in the middle of reading, that they were fictional characters. I wanted to talk about them, as if they were a part of my life... as if I were a part of their story. I may not be a part of theirs, but they've become a part of mine that I will carry with me with reverence. I feel like I've lived a lifetime with them.
Eyes on the Stars is one of these books you get completely lost in and just can't put down. The very best kind. Tears flowed freely as I read - another sure sign that the writer did an outstanding job of transporting me into the world of her characters -- the reason I read fiction! This one definitely ranks very high up there in my list of favorites, and I will surely read it again. When I do, I'm certain I'll feel the story as deeply as the first time I read it and will shed as many tears - if not more.
Emotions aside, I loved getting an insight into the life of the WASPs during WWII, and absolutely LOVED the spunk of the almost-90-year-old characters! Thank you, Lynn Ames, for bringing these beautiful characters to life on the page and allowing us to partake in their adventures! I am ever so grateful.
One of the best lesbian romance authors out did herself on "Eyes On The Stars." Great historical fiction thrown in with a bittersweet romance that had me drowning in tears the last few chapters. Felt like the characters were real and you really knew them. Kept me up all night until I finished. Luckily I work nights and could sleep in for the following night shift.
This story takes us along for a bumpy ride with the brave women who join and train in the Women AirForce Service Pilots (WASP's) program during WWII. The account of these WASP's and their trials to be accepted in a male dominated field is spot on and very well researched, right down to the ugliness endured by some of these women pilots.
While riding along this life long journey with two very different women, Jessie and Claudia, we observe their struggles against life's unfair treatment of women and of a love many feel is wrong. They fight and build the beginnings of a true love that will surely last the test of time. Or will it? Events will take place testing their resolve and possibly destroying everything they've shared. This reflection over these events and their lifetime story will leave you speechless.
Never has a tale reached in and grabbed my heartstrings like this one did. The total gambit of emotions it will have you cheering for these ladies one moment and crying like a baby the next. This is a true love story written at its best, in such a way guaranteed to stir even the hardest of hearts. There is no way to escape the raw emotions this story will invoke and you'll not only need tissue but time, as you'll not want to put it down.
Some may doubt if a love such as Jessie and Claudia shared could be realistic in today's time through so many struggles and challenges, but I'd like to think it is. So, if you've ever had a doubt how true love should feel or how it can stand the test of time this story will answer some of those questions...it's that good. Get it, read it, and you'll cherish it. It really does deserve more than 5 Stars. It will now share a spot in my favorite all time reads.
